Welcome to the Centre for Subtropical Design, a partnership between the Brisbane City Council, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and the Queensland Government Department of Infrastructure and Planning.

This important Council initiative recognises the value of good design and the need to ‘raise the bar’ on the quality of design and development in the local environment.  The primary motivation of the Centre is to stimulate design solutions which strengthen rather than weaken the city/region’s subtropical identity.
